Be sure your using a good conditioner, maybe even a curl-enhancing variety. Whatever you do, dont try to bush out or force your hair straight. I have curly hair too and i know that wont happen! =P Dont gel it down either! You dont want it to be crunchy and wet looking for the rest of the day. Straight out of the shower, use a smoothing/ anti frizz syrum and let it air dry. I also use a curl mousse to help the curls along and hold them without being sticky or gross. My favorites are Paul Mitchell Super Skinny [frizz syrum] and Got2B kinky curl mousse. Yes, these are womens hair products.. and if thats a problem im sure there are male varieties for both of them. =]

Also, condition your hair once a week:

And straighten your hair if you can.

Always use a heat serum before you straighten it.
ok this might sound crazy but dont brush it. if you leave it alone after you get out of the shower and let it just dry naturally with out disturbing it it should be ok.
get leave in conditionning cream by garnier or get smoothing milk by garnier and put like a 50 cent coin size amount in your hair. thatll work good and keep your hair from being a puff ball lol :]
Just normal anti-frizz products.
