i like this guy. my friend asked him out for me and he said i have to ask him myself. i was going to write him a note but then i thought that was wimpy of me. how should i ask him without sounding desperate?

You should definitely work up the courage to ask him out but what ever you do do NOT send a note he told your friend that he wanted you to ask him out, that means he wants to speak to your face not read a note! Also if you send a note and he replies with a note them it will be a really awkward relationship and not good at all! ASK HIM OUT!!
just bring into the conversation hey do you like anybody right now? and if he says maybe and looks at you funny then tell him that you like him or you can ask him if he has a girlfriend or drop hints or you can just come out with a big bang just tell him stright up and trust me none of these ways will make you feel desprate lol

You have to get to know the guy first to see if you would want to build a relationship.


Then, when you know him well you could ask him out. ???
If you can't face him to talk to him and ask him out, (which I don't think girls should do) then your date will be awful. First get to know him enough to feel comfortable around him. Then suggest going some where.
Just go up to him and say, ';I really like you and was wondering if you would go out with me,'; asking someone out not to their face isn't ever a good way to ask someone out.

Ok, if he wants YOU to ask HIM then he definitely wants to say yes. If you just ask him straight up ';will you go out with me?'; thats not desperate.
just ask him out face to face as soon as you can.

Oh getting your friend to ask him is RIDICULOUS!! Never do that again. My advice, just ask him. But I would advise, getting to know him first. That's just me though.
