In this day and age, it's easy to keep in touch. Get his email address, keep in touch with him. I am older than my husband. What you will realize one day is that it doesn't matter what age you are....except like if he was 5 and you were 25, LOL!! hey baby, i feel for your problem and there is a simple solution which i (43) and my better half (29) have always known of. age is nothing but a number. it is in no way or form a limit on who you like or love. i know you girls think it is but no it's not. you in high school and him in middle school means nothing in 2 yrs he will be in high school too. the only problem is when your 18...lol he's not!! at that point you will have to wait for him. you say you might be moving? how far? ya know you will be driving some time in the next cpl yrs so if its not far you can drive to him. in any case, if you two really mean it with your feelings you have to fight to make it work. now granted if next yr you have to move half way across the country its gonna be a differ ant problem but deal with that when the time comes. maybe if people see your interest in him and have real feelings they might think twice about moving.
Um... well ask him out. Or just stay as friends. So what if theirs an age difference. And remember if you do move that you could always call him (or text depending on if you have a phone). I found out the other days that one of my friends moving next year and I'll just keep in touch with him. But ya... take a chance. wow that sucks. I would just be friends with him if you are moving far away. My boyfriend goes to St.Johns school in Fenton and I go to Fenton Middle so we go to different schools and still date ( but we live in the same town). I'm moving to North Carolina in the summer. I haven't decided what to do either. It's not a problem if he's younger or you go to different schools but if you live far far away you might want to call it a friendship and be done with it. Would you regret it for a while if you never took a chance to see what could have been? If so, ask him out. You still have the summer, right? You could have a lot of fun hanging out with each other and who knows what kind of friendship you two could develop. If it's not a big deal and you think you would be embarrassed by him when you go to high school, then don't do it because you will hurt him. 1st thing first, age is just a number. If you really like this guy, you shouldn't let that concern you. I would go ahead and give it a shot, even if you're moving next year, because you never know things may not work out for another year, you guys are only middle schoolers.
Don't do it... not because hes young but because your moving out. If you guys go at it for a year and he realllllllly likes u and he begins to have feelings for u, then thats a problem. As others have said... don't worry about the future. Don't be unrealistic, but it's OK to date someone younger. Ask you parents - odds are they aren't the same age (though that isn't certain). Trust me - you'll regret forgetting him entirely.

I'm 16 fairly new to the sport (6 months experience) but not bad. So around June i really started to turn up the heat and i started getting drastically better going to camps and stuff and now when i play my ';A'; game i can give lots of the Varsity players a fight. about a month ago i was really at my peak and i had developed a pretty big a** flat serve but late July i entered this tourny and lost terribly because my service broke down i never held serve.
And i felt like i forgot how to serve... i know this sounds wierd but it was like i was serving for the very first time. So i'm wondering how to get it back because i like flat driving serves better than spin serves. now i have a good enough spin serve but i feel like i'm not using my whole body on my serve like when i served flat b4. now bending my knees and finishing with a hard downward motion feels awkward and like i cant do it. i need some advice because tennis starts back up in Feb. and i wanna make varsity.Can you guys give me some tips and advice on how to get my serve back as well as my confidence.?

Hitting a hard flat serve is a problem. Take less off of it. What's the chance of getting an ace or a service winner? Just work your way through the point. Start trying to get some baskets in...at least 3. If you don't develop your spin serve (preferably a kick serve) then you are going to regret it in the future.

you are experiencing what I went through last year.During that match you have played and you had performed well at the very beginning but then sth in the way you played broke down and you lost one not so difficult match.I think that your problem is partly connected to your psyche.Consult with your coach, he is the person who can tell you exactly how to brush up the technique of your serve.Practice it a lot.If there is a training wall in your club try practicing there.One more thing - while sergving repeat in your mind the moves you need to make in order to perform a serve(split the hands, toss the ball, etc.), This way you'd be more concentrated and less likely to make a mistake.
Do you think you can ace your way through a whole match on your serves?Start learning to
vary your serves.
High school tennis sucks. Plain and simple. The VERY best of them are actually good, but there aren't mamy of them.
First of all, NEVER hit DOWN on a serve. ALWAYS UP! Of course it won't feel like you are hitting up on most serves. Except a kicker of course, but obviously you don't know how to hit that serve.
Second, yes the percentages of hitting an ace or a service winner with just a hard flat serve is low. If you can control it and send it to the corners along with a good slice serve with great control as well, then you start hitting aces. That's the only reason I generate a lot of aces, that and I naturally have good racket head speed.
Next, if you hate spin serves and you can give your school's varsity players a fight, then your team REALLY sucks BADLY! Even my school's freshmen can hit decient spin serves. One of them actually has a good kick serve, but it still needs work.
If you want to fix this, get a coach, and fix that serve. Next, get a lot of match experience. Then, get a kick serve so you do hold serve. My kick serve keeps getting better and better, now I'm winning sets quickly and easily because of it.
If you have a crappy serve, get a great return of serve as well as a kick serve. That way, when you hold all of your serves, chances are you only had to hold 3 or 4 because you broke the other guy so many times. That's how it is with me.

Just try and drop a couple of opportunities for him to take up, and see where it lands you - having been in a similar situation, it is very hard for the guy, cos the rejection is worse the more he fancies you. I have been told by many people that I am very attractive (9+ to 10, long blonde hair, blue eyes, fit/lean/ great financially ) and I have a college education and a great career...my question is I cannot for the life of me find a good guy (good looking, smart, great career,etc...etc...etc...)

The nature of relationships is a strange one. By actively going looking for your dream guy, you're giving off an aura of power and success and while guys find it a turn on, the chances are you're also giving off an aura of control and, potentially, may even seem high maintainance.
My advice, is stop looking for your dream guy, go out and just have fun. Your man is out there somewhere and you'll find each other when the time is right.
On a side note, it sounds like the diet you're following is slightly conflicting with your social requirements. Perhaps it might be helpful to look into other options and, maybe, not push things too hard. It's also something that demands alot of time (usually - I'm generalising, not really being too specific) which means less time for you and anyone you happen to meet.
At the end of the day, it's down to doing what you feel you need to and these suggestions are there only as a guide from one person to another.

I would guess that it is someday in your near future. You may need to expand your horizons give some guys a chance that you normally wouldn't. My best friend is a girl. She broke up with her boyfriend in May. Last night we were on her mom's computer while she was ';doing'; her homework. We flipped through some pictures and ones of her and her ex came up. She started getting down on herself too. She said she still wasn't totally over him.
Its understandable. Everybody always has some feelings over their ex. Especially if they are a recently made ex.

Here's a little challenge for a miracle. Stop thinking about him, and worrying about how you're going to find him. Trust that he will pass your way again, and keep your eyes peeled. Somehow these two things seem to work in a weird sort of way. You mention this dude to your couple of friends. Okay, and then ask them to see if anyone they know of knows him, and then you sit back and wait.

Just don't ask him out yourself, it's social suicide for the guy and he'll be emasculated by his peers for a very long time.

I'm rolling (working on our ground game) with some of my buddies, and they've both got a good 50lbs+ on me. We start on our knees and from there we just do our thing, well these douches are tossing me around like im a rag doll when we lock up, and from there get a dominant position and i usually cant shake them off of me. any advice on how to level the playing field?MMA. Regardless of what the first guy said, BJJ whas devised to use leverage and is independent on size. 9/10 times someone trying to use strength over technique will get swept and quite easily too.
Submissions 101 is really great to learn technique, but it does not substitute for an actual instructor.
And to pmueller: You can joke all you want but I'd be more disrespected if 10 year olds were running around with black belts in my art.
Study more on your judo and BJJ, where the focus is minimizing the advantages of larger opponents. You need to learn to use their weight and momentum against them. If they are throwing you mostly with their arm/shoulder strength, they are setting themselves up to have one arm isolated, if you are quick enough.

Find a friend who is lighter to come out and work with you. Go to a real MMA gym and get taught by pro's. That might result in you actually getting better and learning something.

In order to be good, you must roll with people of different sizes, getting used to bigger guys will improve your technique.

Just don't make eye contact.
If you're serious about your ground game, then train for it. Size should be irrelevant to your ground game -- Helio Gracie stil rolled at 97 and he was NEVER an imposing figure. He was, however, technically magnificent and very, very strong. There is a reason NAGA and other grappling events have an ';absolute'; division (open weight class) -- size should not matter, only technique.
If you're starting on your knees, I'm guessing you're just rolling and not training with an instructor. Otherwise you'd be working from various positions. If you DO have some actual training in BJJ, then start working on your escapes from side control, sweeps from half-guard, passing the full guard, etc. I'm a tall, skinny guy and I've found that I like working from my butterfly guard on bigger dudes. I have a hard time with them from half-guard, but I can transition to butterfly guard without as much hassle (the Jailbreak from side control is one I use regularly). From butterfly guard I have three different sweeps I'm decent with and I have a pretty good marce choke from there as well.
Submissions 101 on YouTube has a lot of good instruction. Ari is a student of Eddie Bravo and he's a good teacher as well. You could also get Eddie's DVD ';Mastering the Rubber Guard'; but be aware: 10pjj is VERY different in MANY ways from traditional BJJ. Without a good instructor who knows the system you're going to miss a lot of the important details.
Last but not least, if you're just rolling with friends and you don't have an instructor: be careful. It is easy to end up with a permanent injury -- especially to joints like your knees, ankles, elbows, and wrists. Hip injuries are also common and can sideline you for years (or even permanently).

Regardless of what the first guy said, BJJ whas devised to use leverage and is independent on size. 9/10 times someone trying to use strength over technique will get swept and quite easily too.
Submissions 101 is really great to learn technique, but it does not substitute for an actual instructor.
And to pmueller: You can joke all you want but I'd be more disrespected if 10 year olds were running around with black belts in my art.
Study more on your judo and BJJ, where the focus is minimizing the advantages of larger opponents. You need to learn to use their weight and momentum against them. If they are throwing you mostly with their arm/shoulder strength, they are setting themselves up to have one arm isolated, if you are quick enough.

Find a friend who is lighter to come out and work with you. Go to a real MMA gym and get taught by pro's. That might result in you actually getting better and learning something.
Keep doing it, work on technique constantly.
In order to be good, you must roll with people of different sizes, getting used to bigger guys will improve your technique.

If you're serious about your ground game, then train for it. Size should be irrelevant to your ground game -- Helio Gracie stil rolled at 97 and he was NEVER an imposing figure. He was, however, technically magnificent and very, very strong. There is a reason NAGA and other grappling events have an ';absolute'; division (open weight class) -- size should not matter, only technique.
If you're starting on your knees, I'm guessing you're just rolling and not training with an instructor. Otherwise you'd be working from various positions. If you DO have some actual training in BJJ, then start working on your escapes from side control, sweeps from half-guard, passing the full guard, etc. I'm a tall, skinny guy and I've found that I like working from my butterfly guard on bigger dudes. I have a hard time with them from half-guard, but I can transition to butterfly guard without as much hassle (the Jailbreak from side control is one I use regularly). From butterfly guard I have three different sweeps I'm decent with and I have a pretty good marce choke from there as well.
Submissions 101 on YouTube has a lot of good instruction. Ari is a student of Eddie Bravo and he's a good teacher as well. You could also get Eddie's DVD ';Mastering the Rubber Guard'; but be aware: 10pjj is VERY different in MANY ways from traditional BJJ. Without a good instructor who knows the system you're going to miss a lot of the important details.
Last but not least, if you're just rolling with friends and you don't have an instructor: be careful. It is easy to end up with a permanent injury -- especially to joints like your knees, ankles, elbows, and wrists. Hip injuries are also common and can sideline you for years (or even permanently).
There to big you are never gonna level the playing field you need to train with people about your size and work out a lot more.
